Student visa work limitations – restart on 30 June 2023

From 30 June 2023 international students (in Australia on student visas) will again be limited to 40 hours work per week while their course is in session.

Work limitations were relaxed to aid in the Covid-19 recovery.

The federal government has announced that the relaxation ends on 30 June 2023.

I encourage all employers of international students to put this important date in their work diary, to ensure that Students are not allowed to work more than legally allowed come 30 June 2023. Allowing a person to work beyond/outside their legal work rights is an offense.

Students, you should also put this change in your diary. If you breach your work limitation your visa can be cancelled.
